This course will let you meet the requirements of SLED for open or concealed carrying of a weapon in South Carolina. From beginners to advanced shooters, this class includes pistol safety, operation and storage, transportation, ammunition, fundamentals of marksmanship, the laws of South Carolina including self-defense, when/where you can carry, range rules and range session with live fire.

Private pistol instruction is available for all levels. Options include gun purchase, fundamentals, shooting, gun safety, CWP classes, etc. Individual/couples training can occur at various locations including your home, an outdoor range, indoor range, or a combination of those. The NRA New Shooter Seminar exposes new gun owners to the fundamentals of firearm safety. This 45-60 minute seminar is a great introduction to the important safety aspects of owning a firearm

NRA FIRST Steps Pistol is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation of  pistol. This course is at typically three hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a pistol. Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; the particular pistol model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, FIRST Steps Course completion certificate.

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience. Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate.

Whether you require certification, or you simply want to learn how to respond in the event of an emergency, our in-person, online, and best-in-class blended learning courses make it easy to get CPR certified and be prepared for the moments that matter.
